Problem

In many production processes, there is often some proportion of air and/or gas in the liquids to be pumped.

The reasons for this can be, for example:

Conventional centrifugal pumps, which are faced with a high proportion of air and/or gas, run unsteadily and do not generate a stable flow rate. Owing to the different physical properties of gases and liquids, gas is accumulated in front of the impeller (item 230) and results – depending on the size of the gas bubble formed on the suction side – in unstable pumping levels or even in the complete stop of the pump feeding.

Solution using SRP Pump

The special vacuum impeller (item 231) integrated into the SPR pump sucks the air/liquid mixture through degassing bores which are located in the upstream conveyor impeller (item 230) and helps there to separate air and liquid. The residual air/liquid mixture, which has been separated by this process, can then be recycled into the process on the suction side, e.g. using existing liquid containers, through bypass lines, which are mounted on the pump housing of the vacuum impeller.
